16 January 2005 Dynamic PDF maps - the conclusionPretty much all done now: the mapping, the placement, the accompanying text. All that's left is a little bit of presentational work (headers and footers, etc.), then I can wrap all the pages up into one PDF. Here's some sample output. These pages were entirely generated from a database: all the script asks of me are the bounding co-ordinates for the map and the scale required. It does the rest. River Lee north I have sworn at PHP a lot in the last few days (and if anyone knows how to make pdf_clip work more than once on one page, I'd love to hear them). But I'm pretty proud of all this, especially the text placement stuff. CommentsThat's really, really impressive, especially managing the complete lack of overlapping text automatically.
